Purpose

The organizers invite the participants to submit abstracts for contributed presentations. A contributed presentation is an opportunity not only for advertising research results but also for starting an international collaboration on each topic. Since the education of young researchers is one of the main objectives of this seminar/workshop, the organizers deeply encourage the contributions from PhD students and Post-docs.

A tentative program will be available

Expected topics and categories

Presentations will be accepted across a wide range of topics related to high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy of diffuse cosmic plasma.

    Detailed examples are as follows.

    • Simulations for high-resolution spectroscopy with ASTRO-H/SXS
    • Spectroscopic study with currently active X-ray observatories,
but with prospects for further study with ASTRO-H/SXS
    • New X-ray line diagnostics enabled with ASTRO-H/SXS
    • Theoretical issues in astrophysics,
those expected to be tackled/solved with new observations with ASTRO-H/SXS

Because the seminar/workshop is focused on cosmic diffuse hot plasma, expected categories are supernova remnants, interstellar medium, galaxies, and clusters of galaxies. Presentations on other categories of objects, however, are also welcome as long as they are consistent with the seminar/workshop theme (= high-resolution spectroscopy with ASTRO-H/SXS).

Presentation types

  • The organers offer two different types of contributions; oral and poster presentations.
    • Oral presentations
      • Each presentation will be 15 + 5 min (talk + Q&A).

    • Poster presentations
      • One vertically long A0-size poster.

  • Participants can select one of the types in the submission form below. Because of limitation of time slots, some participants those prefer an oral presentation might be asked to switch to a poster presentation. The priority to have an oral presentation will be given to post-doc presenters. The result of the arrangement will be informed to each participant on April 25 with a tentative program.
  • Accepted oral presenters will be asked to submit a PDF copy of their presentation which will be available to download during the workshop. The access to these presentation files will be limited to the participants.

Important notes

  • The submission form does not allow to save the draft. Thus it is highly recommended to prepare your abstract as a text file at your local machine, then paste the content to the form and submit it.
  • Once your abstract is submitted through the form, the result of submission will be shown. Please retry if you recieve any error.
  • It is not possible to delete previous succesful submissions. If you need to replace your abstract, please simply re-submit a revised version; the latest submission will be treated as the final.
  • For young participants: This is just a small workshop. Please do not hesitate to be actively involved!
  • If you have any question, please email to us (either in English or in Japanese).
