講演題目： Spin Waves and Non-Stoner Continuum States in the Double Exchange Model
要旨：
The double exchange model was introduced by Zener (1951) to describe the ferromagnetic metal phase of doped manganites. Such materials have been of great interest in recent times, and are famous for the property called colossal magnetoresistance. I will discuss results of exact diagonalization studies of the DE model that indicate the existence of continuum states whose energies overlap the spin waves at low energy (~-.01 eV) and extend to high energies (~ eV). This picture differs dramatically from the prevalent view, where there are the spin waves, plus the Stoner continuum at the high energy scale, with nothing in between. The relevance of these new continuum states to inelastic neutron scattering and optical properties will be discussed.
